General Information
The Dearborn County Department of Transportation & Engineering is responsible for the maintenance of over 500 miles of county roads, 103 bridges, 350 small structures, 45 miles of guardrail, and over 5000 traffic signs. To carry out our responsibility, the department has a combined office and field staff of 32 employee's.
The Department of Transportation's main office is located in the County Administration Building in the City of Lawrenceburg. To provide service to the citizens of Dearborn County, the department operates three sub-stations throughout the county. One is located near Bright on Jamison Road, a second is on County Farm Road in Manchester, and the third is on Randall Ave just outside the City of Aurora.
The average annual department budget is over $2,700,000. The budget comprises of three primary accounts. The Motor Vehicle Highway Account & the Local Road & Street Account, which is funded thru gasoline and license plate taxes ($2,000,000) and The Cum Bridge Fund ($750,000) account is funded thru property taxes. In addition, County Council allocates a small amount of funds from the riverboat gaming revenue to the department.

To report unsafe conditions on State Roads (I-275, US 50, SR 1, SR 56, SR 62, SR 350, SR 262, SR 48, SR 148), please call INDOT at (812) 926-0376.
