Dearborn County Superior Courts Probation Department
Position: Probation Officer (Full-time)
Work: As Assigned
·         Bachelor Degree from an Accredited University or College
·         Must be Twenty-One (21) years of age
·         Possession or the Ability to obtain Probation Officer Certification through the Indiana Judicial Center
·         Ability to meet all hiring requirements of Dearborn County Government
·         Must be a U.S. Citizen
·         Must not have a Criminal Record
·         Must possess a valid Driver License
·         Must be able to pass a physical examination and a drug test
Probation Officer Duties:
·         Supervises, monitors, and communicates with probationers including regular meetings with probationers.
·         Maintain records on probationers, including updating and maintaining computer documentation on probationers.
·         Provide reports in regards to probationers to the courts upon the courts request.
·         Prepare Pre-Sentence Investigations as requested by the courts.
·         Conducts Risk Assessments on probationers through Indiana Risk Assessment System (IRAS).
·         Collect Urine Samples on probationers for Urine Drug Screen Analysis. 
·         Conduct home visits on probationers in conjunction with local law enforcement officer’s to ensure the probationer is complying with his/her conditions of probation. 
·         Conduct Probation Orientation with probationers and outline what is expected of the probationer while he/she is on probation as court ordered.
·         File Request for Violations of Probation with the court and other court documents modifying the probationer’s probation terms. Notify the court when a violation of probation occurs.
·         Communicate with local treatment providers, family services and other agencies in regards to the probationers court orders. 
·         Follow court orders to ensure the probationer is following the terms of his/her sentencing order.

Dearborn County Sheriff’s Department
Position: Jail Officer

Applicants will be required to submit to a background investigation, physical fitness testing, an interview, drug testing and other procedures that may be deemed appropriate.

The starting salary is $13.40 per hour with possible increases if salary matrix requirements of performance and training are met. An attractive benefits package is also included.

Public Health Preparedness Coordinator
Part-Time position 0 – 24 Hours per week

·         Assist local health department in completing Health Preparedness Grant requirements
·         Assist with updating Department Health Preparedness Plans
·         Work closely with other governmental agencies to promote health preparedness activities
·         Update MOUs (memorandums of understanding) with partner agencies.
·         Update volunteer database and promote health preparedness to encourage more volunteers
·         Create SOP/SOGs that are easily followed by a person who may be new to health preparedness activities.
·         Be knowledgeable in Microsoft Office programs including Excel, Word, Powerpoint, and Access.
·         Possess computer skills necessary to assist with schematic drawings, data transfer, badging and credentialing of volunteers or workers at Health Preparedness Exercises
·         Must have good communications and presentations skills. 
·         Be able to present and conduct trainings for upcoming exercises and other necessary trainings to promote public health preparedness efforts.
·         Ability to utilize the resources, or supplies, provided to assist with the performance of the duties listed above.
·         Must pass a physical examination, drug test, and possess a valid driver’s license.

Wage will be commensurate with skills, educational, and experience levels.

Juvenile Center
Part-Time Youth Attendant Position Available

A Part-Time Youth Attendant shall provide supervision for all residents of the Dearborn County Juvenile Center by providing direct care and program services on his/her designated shift. The Part-Time Youth Attendant shall ensure that the Juvenile Center operates according to policy and procedure.  The Part-Time Youth Attendant is subject to the direction of the Shift Supervisor. The individual must  be willing to work a variety of shifts, including weekends, overnights and holidays.  The pay rate is for a Part-Time Youth Attendant is $12.00 per hour.
·         Must be a United States citizen
·         Must pass a physical examination
·         Must be at least 21 years of age                     
·         Must pass a mandatory drug test
·         Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
·         Must have a valid driver’s license
·         Must not have a criminal record
·         Maintain security of the facility         
·         Attend staff meetings and meet all training requirements
·         Supervise juveniles with cleaning duties                   
·         Provide behavior management of juveniles
·         Oversee admission/release of juveniles                      
·         Conduct room/facility searches as required
·         Observe and record behaviors and activities
·         Conduct 15 minute room checks of juveniles as necessary
·         Transport juveniles to court and other appointments   
·         Physically restrain and secure disruptive/violent youth
·         Maintain communication with other staff members, probation officers, caseworkers, law enforcement and juveniles’ families

Surveyor’s Office
Position: Intern/Co-op Position / Part Time
This position involves “section corner perpetuation,” posting of “tie cards” to the Dearborn County website, drafting the tie cards in SurvCADD, field work gathering information to create the tie cards, printing and filing the tie cards. There may be field work on county projects involving a total station, data collector, and/or GPS.
·         Must be a United States citizen
·         Must be at least 21 years of age
·         Must have education in the field of surveying
·         Must pass a physical examination
·         Be physically fit as job duties require
·         Prior experience surveying preferred
·         Know how to use SurvCADD, Microsoft Office Suite, and GPS programs
·         A general knowledge of the field of surveying.
·         Complete projects as assigned
·         Work with the County Surveyor and staff
·         Draft, post, and publish tie cards
·         Research and document section corners, quarter corners, and quarter-quarter corners
·         Set a work schedule
·         Complete field work with the Surveyor and/or Deputy Surveyor
·         GIS work as assigned
·         Communication to the general public and ability to explain the County Surveyor duties

Associate Level 3/Appraiser
Chief Deputy Assessor
·         Assist in the day to day management and operation of the Assessor’s office. 
·         Provide oversight and monitoring of staff to assure compliance with County and State policies and continuing education requirements.
·         Assist in the budgetary process and monitoring of expenditures.

Maintenance Worker

Dearborn County Transportation and Engineering Office seek experienced Highway Maintenance Worker. 

Ideal candidate will have experience in road and bridge construction and maintenance.  Heavy highway operator experience preferred.  CDL required.  Must be high school graduate or have GED, be at least 18 years of age, and have the ability to pass a medical exam and drug screen.
