Veterans Memorial

Vets MemorialThe Dearborn County Veterans Memorial is located outside the Courthouse off Mary Street.

It is a calming area where one can stop anytime and pay respect to those who served their county.

The Veterans Memorial is a living memorial that is used by many groups in Dearborn County.  It has been designed as an open air theater, with a stage 42 feet wide and 20 feet deep, with the back of the stage containing memorial stones. The center stone is 10 feet in height, with the stones on each side declining to heights of 4 feet.  The monument was constructed on the grounds of the Dearborn County Courthouse by the Veterans groups in Dearborn County. The Memorial is managed by the “Vietnam Veterans of American” at the present time.

Inscribed memorial bricks for veterans are placed on the stage floor of the monument. Inscribed bricks for other than veterans, (friends, relatives, organizations, etc.) are placed on the walkway leading to the monument.

The cost of a brick is $40.00 and all proceeds go toward the cost and upkeep of the memorial. For more information on the bricks available or to purchase a brick for the Veterans Memorial, please click here to download the form.
