As a result of
numerous meetings, a group of eight individuals began the Dearborn County
Water Rescue Team, August 1983. The group consisted of several who were
interested in becoming divers, their training expenses came out of their own
pockets. The others were dedicated to helping people but did not want to
become divers. Together they formed the volunteer team to help people in
times of distress. Due to the new statistics concerning survival drowning
victims, we are striving to be a rescue team as well as search and recovery.
We are constantly in training and refining our skills. This is a team of
truly dedicated volunteers. I am very proud to be a member and their captains.
