Dearborn County Soil and Water Conservation District Public Meeting

June 12th

9:00 A.M.

The Dearborn County Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) is seeking input into the natural resources concerns of the county. The SWCD along with Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) is in the process of setting the priorities for program work for 2026. You can participate in two ways: by contacting SWCD office for the materials and the Natural Resources Checklist, that can be completed and returned to the office by mail or email, or you can participate in person by contacting the SWCD office for more information, (812) 926-2406 ext., 3. The Natural Resources Checklist will need to be returned to SWCD or NRCS by June 16, 2025.

The primary tool for identifying natural resources concerns is a checklist provided by NRCS. By ranking these concerns both SWCD and NRCS will be able to provide local, state, and federal programs to help accomplish projects related to the identified concerns.

NRCS uses the list of the top resource concerns identified through this process for Dearborn County in ranking applications for programs such as the Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP). Currently NRCS is accepting applications for programs that provide potential incentive payments for conservation practices to be installed in 2026.

We would like to invite you to attend the meeting to help set the natural resource priorities and concerns for 2026. Please contact the Dearborn County Soil and Water Conservation District at 812-926-2406, ext. 3 to make a reservation. You may also contact SWCD or NRCS if you can not attend this meeting but would like more information on programs available.

If you need special accommodation please contact Matt Jarvis, 812-926-2406 ext. 3 by May 29, 2025. USDA is an Equal Opportunity Provider, Employer and Lender.
