Superior Court II

Welcome to Dearborn Superior Court II

The Superior Court II was established effective January 1, 2006 by the Indiana legislature and is one of three courts located in the courthouse serving Dearborn County.  Honorable Sally A. McLaughlin was appointed by Governor Mitch Daniels to serve as the initial Judge of the court.

The Judge and Court staff are committed to our System of Justice and fulfilling the words of the Governor “…to remain loyal to our most basic principle of government: “to serve the people.”

  • The Court staff welcomes the opportunity to assist you.  However, they cannot give legal advice.  They are available Monday – Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.  The Court office is located on the second floor of the courthouse.
  • The Superior Court II courtroom is located on the first floor of the courthouse.  However, jury trials cannot be accommodated in the Superior Court’s first floor courtroom and are generally held in the Circuit courtroom on the second floor, the Superior Court I courtroom on the third floor or the commissioner’s room in the administration building.
  • All jurors and witnesses should report to the information desk on the first floor of the courthouse for jury trials in Superior Court II.
  • Superior Court II is a court of general jurisdiction.  The docket includes family law, civil and criminal matters. Cases are assigned by Local Court Rules.
  • The Clerk of the Court maintains records and filings of each of the three courts and has two separate offices. Circuit Court cases and Superior Court II family law cases are filed in the second floor clerk’s office.  Superior Court I and Superior Court II cases including civil, criminal, small claims and protective orders are filed in the third floor clerk’s office.
