DEARBORN COUNTY PROPERTY TAXPAYERS

The 2025 payable 2026 Property Taxes will be due Monday, May 11, 2026 and Tuesday, November 10, 2026. THEY HAVE NOT BEEN CALCULATED YET.  Please remember bills are only mailed out in the Spring. Bills are usually mailed out by the third week of March. If you did not receive your bill, please visit www.lowtaxinfo.com to print a new copy, or call our office at (812)-537-8811 for one to be emailed to you. We are not responsible for any penalty you may incur due to not receiving a tax bill.  You can create a user account, add your parcels to a watchlist, make payments and sign up for email and/or text reminders by visiting dearborn-indiana-tax.com.

You may pay your taxes in one of the following ways:

• In person at the Treasurer's Office Monday- Friday from 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. 
• By mail postmarked by May 11, 2026 and November 10, 2026.  Mail with no postmark will only be considered on time if received within 5 business days of the due date.  Metered mail must be received with 5 business days in order to be considered on time.  Mail must be addressed correctly to be considered on time. Please enclose a self-addressed stamped envelope if you would like your receipt returned.

• After office hours by using our GREEN DROP-BOX outside the Main Entrance doors of the County      Administration Building by 11:59 pm May 11, 2026 and November 10, 2026.  Please enclose a self-addressed stamped envelope if you would like your receipt returned. Please, DO NOT LEAVE CASH!!

• By credit card or e-check by visiting dearborn-indiana-tax.com.
Note: credit/debit card payments will be assessed a 2.25% convenience fee (minimum of $2.95).  E-checks are a flat $.65 fee. Electronic payments are timestamped upon being submitted.  Payments submitted after 11:59pm on the due date, will be considered late.

• By phone by calling (812)-438-7250.  Please have your bills ready as you will need your Parcel Numbers. This is an automated service.  Please listen carefully to the prompts.  Credit/Debit card payments will be assessed a 2.25% convenience fee (minimum of $2.95).  E-checks are a flat $.65 fee. Electronic payments are timestamped upon being submitted.  Payments submitted after 11:59 pm on the due date, will be considered late. WE ARE NOT BONDED TO TAKE PAYMENTS BY PHONE IN OFFICE.

TREASURER'S OFFICE

The office of the Dearborn County Treasurer is a constitutional office. The constitution of Indiana and Indiana statutory law provides for the election of a treasurer in each county. The treasurer is responsible for the collection of county property taxes and is the custodian for all money belonging to the county.

The treasurer is also responsible to invest the public funds in a manner which provides the highest investment return with maximum security.

The Treasurer is responsible for the mailing of the tax statements and for the collection and distribution of the taxes generated in Dearborn County. The treasurer also collects drainage assessments, excise tax and sewer liens.

Term: 4 years - elected - two term limit in 12 years.

Chief function of the Treasurer is to collect and retain custody of and disperse county funds.

  • Issues Moving Permits and Title Transfer Permits for Mobile Homes
