Stormwater

In 2011 The State of Indiana passed legislation giving authority to the county drainage board to investigate drainage problems outside of legal drains.

For a fee, the Dearborn County Surveyors Office can conduct Stormwater Investigations; however, before a complaint form is submitted, it is the responsibility of the complainant to attempt to resolve the conflict between the two parties.

If a complaint is filed, it must be done so with the forms linked below, and they must be delivered to our office in person with the fee.

If a problem is found and cannot be resolved between the two parties, the Drainage Board may take action, and the costs associated with the action will be billed to any parties that benefit from the action taken.
